Interview with Art Director Terry Ackland-Snow in London

The next Soundstage event in London, to be held on Tuesday 12th February at The Others, welcomes Art Director Terry Ackland-Snow whose work include two James Bond films.

Terry Ackland-Snow began his career in the Film and Television industry in the Art Department at Danziga Studios in Elstree at the age of 18.

Having worked for more than 50 years on over 80 feature film and television productions and has amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience all of which he applies to his Masterclasses.

Starting as Junior Draughtsman, he worked his way from junior positions, up to Art Director, Supervising Art Director and finally Production Designer before deciding to set up Film Design International to give something back to the industry he is passionate about.

His impressive resume includes highly popular and award winning films and TV Series such as The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), Superman II (1980), Superman III (1983), King David (1985), Aliens (1986), The Living Daylights (1987), Batman (1989) and Get Real (1998) among others. Terry’s work on Batman included co-designing the iconic Batmobile.

(Terry also worked as a draughtsman on the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service who celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year.)

• Has been an adjudicator for BAFTA (Crafts Category)
