In the tradition of Hollywood's finest awards presentations, the best stunt people in the entertainment industry will be recognized for their performances in feature films released in 2015 at this year's Taurus World Stunt Awards ceremony. SPECTRE, with Gary Powell as Stunt coordinator, is nominated in three categories.

The four 2016 Taurus World Stunt Awards nominations for SKYFALL:

• BEST HIGH WORK – James Bond fights a bad guy in a helicopter. The helicopter flew 45’ above a crowded square and does a variety of acrobatic manoeuvres trying to throw them off. CGI was used to add people to the square and remove safety cables. WINNER: Jupiter Ascending

• BEST WORK WITH A VEHICLE – James Bond fights a bad guy in a helicopter. The helicopter flew 45’ above a crowded square and does a variety of acrobatic manoeuvres trying to throw them off. CGI was used to add people to the square and remove safety cables. WINNER: Fast & Furious 7

• BEST STUNT COORDINATION AND/OR 2ND UNIT DIRECTION – Gary Powell
WINNER: Guy Norris, Glenn Suter, Keir Beck, Lawrence Woodward, Steve Griffin & Tyrone Stevenson for Mad Max: Fury Road

• Lifetime Achievement Award: Andy Armstrong (brother of Vic Armstrong)

Before the 2016 Taurus World Stunt Awards, SPECTRE has won an Academy Award for Best Original Song (to Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes), a Golden Globe to Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes for Best Original Song, two Empire awards for Best British Film and Best Thriller.

Editor's note:
Gary Powell has already won TWO Taurus World Stunt awards for 'Best Stunt Coordination and/or 2nd Unit Direction' for his work on Casino Royale (2006) and Skyfall (2012) (2012). Vic Armstrong was nominated in the same category at the 2003 awards for his work on Die Another Day (2002).
