Costume Designer for every Bond film between 1995 and 2006

The first time I met Lindy Hemming was after her on-stage interview at NFT in London on May 2, 2009. The session was entitled "The Costume Interpreter: Lindy Hemming" and was part of the centenary celebrations of Albert R. Broccoli's birth.

Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming masterminded the costumes for five Bond films (GoldenEye (1995) 1995, Tomorrow Never Dies 1997, The World Is Not Enough 1999, Die Another Day 2002 and Casino Royale 2006) and in the process helped modernise the look of the legendary franchise. Easing Bond out of his traditional Savile Row suits, she helped to create Pierce Brosnan’s urbane Bond, shaped the image of Judi Dench as M and reinterpreted the bikini Ursula Andress wore in Dr. No for Halle Berry as Jinx in Die Another Day, moving on to tailor the momentous transition when Daniel Craig assumed.

Author and journalist Bronwyn Cosgrave welcomed Lindy Hemming to discuss her career to date, which spans from My Beautiful Laundrette to Harry Potter and The Dark Knight.
