James Bond in Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and A View to a Kill (1985).

I have been privileged to meet the adorable Sir Roger Moore several times over the last ten years. And being Swedish, I would say that Sir Roger Moore, in Sweden, is most popular of the actors who has portrayed James Bond.

The first time I spotted him was when we both attended the Royal World Charity Premiere of Die Another Day (2002) at Royal Albert Hall in London on November 18th 2002.

The second time I saw him was when I had the privilege to have a 5-course dinner and socialize a bit with him at the Vue Sur Bond event in Quebec City, Canada, during the weekend of February 24-26th 2006.

I have been fortunate to meet Sir Roger in person while he has visited Stockholm. The first time, in 2007, when he read "If" by Rudyard Kipling at the Nobel Museum, full report here.

Another time in April 2009 when he was in town to promote the Swedish edition of his autobiography, Mitt namn är Moore - Roger Moore, co-written by our friend and Sir Roger's PA, Gareth Owen. (The book, My Word Is My Bond, was first published in September, 2008.)

My latest encounter with Sir Roger Moore was in London during a special event for the Blu-Ray release of The Persuaders in September 2011. Unfortunately, his charming Swedish wife, Lady Kristina, wasn't able to join him and she was missed.

In September 2012, in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of James Bond, Sir Roger's new book Bond on Bond will be published.

To those of you who have not yet met Sir Roger, I can say he is a wonderful human being and a super-friendly person. Also very funny with a great sense of humour, both feet on the ground, big-hearted and with admirable enthusiasm for UNICEF in order to help children in need.

FSWL tried to help a little with that when we hosted a special auction with limited edition lithographs signed by Sir Roger himself. Check out our exclusive Sir Roger Moore auction to benefit UNICEF and view the portrait itself, painted by our dear friend, the talented artist Cathia Hamel.

My sincere thanks, Sir Roger, you are the best! (Not only because you are married to a Swedish woman.)
