FROM SWEDEN WITH LOVE hosted this competition between June 7th and July 31st 2007.
The competition gave participants the chance to win one of ten copies of the Swedish version of Charlie Higson’s young Bond novel ‘SILVERFIN’!
(The prize had to be changed as there was a mistake after the last competition; the winners received a copy of the Swedish version of ‘BLOOD FEVER’ when they should have received the version of ‘SILVERFIN’. I do apologise for this!)
To win a copy of the book the participants had to answer the following three questions correctly:
1. WHEN WAS BLOOD FEVER FIRST PUBLISHED IN ENGLAND?
Correct answer:
JANUARY 5th 2006
2. DR NO IS THE FIRST OFFICIAL JAMES BOND FILM FROM EON PRODUCTIONS BUT WHICH 007 NOVEL WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED TO BE THE FIRST FILM?
Correct answer:
THUNDERBALL (There was a dispute between Ian Fleming and Kevin McClory regarding the film rights for the novel. This lead to a decision that EON could not film the novel as originally planned, but, in 1965 the film was finally made with McClory as producer.)
3. HOW OLD WOULD THE CREATOR OF JAMES BOND - IAN FLEMING - BE IF HE HAD BEEN ALIVE TODAY?
Correct answer:
99 YEARS (He was born May 28th 1908)
